COMPETITION: WIN A COPY OF ‘HARD CASE’ BY JIMMY CASE

LEGENDARY Liverpool midfielder Jimmy Case’s autobiography is out now – and we’ve got five copies to give away to Anfield Road readers.

Hard Case HB Cover v2_Hard Case HB Cover‘Hard Case’ is the honest account of a career of one of Liverpool’s best-loved midfielders. ‘Casey’ joined the Reds in 1973, having moved from local non-league side South Liverpool, making his debut in 1975 in a 3-1 win against QPR at Anfield.

He won a string of medals over the next few seasons – including four league titles – but in 1981 found himself surplus to requirements at Anfield. In the book he talks about how that move came about and how, despite his huge respect for former boss Bob Paisley, he felt he was let go too soon.

He went on to spend almost five seasons playing in centre midfield for Brighton before moving to another south coast side, Southampton, where he stayed six years. Spells at Bournemouth, Halifax, Wrexham, Darlington and Sittingbourne followed before a return to Brighton, where he finally hung up his boots having played his final league game at the age of 41.

Casey’s autobiography, “HARD CASE”, is out now priced £18.99, but Anfield Road readers can get it for the discounted price of just £12.00 – including postage and packing. See below for details of how to take this special offer up.

It would make an ideal present for anyone with an interest in Liverpool FC, an honest look back at the career of one of football’s most honest players, a man who played a huge part in Liverpool’s success in the seventies and into the eighties.
