Robbie Fowler academy opts for Globall Coach tech

THE Fowler Education and Football Academy, which was launched last month by former Liverpool star Robbie Fowler, has announced that it will be using Globall Coach’s football coaching technology when its courses begin in September.

FEFA is currently recruiting 16-19 year olds for the academy, with an open evening set for March 24th at the Hilton in Liverpool, for a course it says has a focus very much on a football academy and sport science education that will give its students the opportunity to obtain the academic and vocational qualifications needed to find a place in university, employment or a scholarship.

The academy plan to integrate Globall Coach software into its sport science, football and sport curriculum and this will give Globall Coach valuable evaluation and feedback from FEFA’s expert team coaches, teachers, sport scientists and physiotherapists.

Fowler says of the Academy: “It’s something that I am passionate about. I was one of the lucky ones in terms of football because I left school and went straight into football but it could have gone the other way.

“I was lucky enough to go on and have, generally, a successful career, but it could have gone the other way. I might have struggled or got a few injuries and not gone on to have the career I had. That’s why we are offering an extremely strong education program alongside the football academy. We believe in students having a choice. We will help them every step of the way. Even when they have left us, we will still be on hand to offer guidance and advice”

Robbie is a busy man these days, alongside working on getting the academy up and running he also combines a role as a Liverpool FC ambassador with coaching sessions at the Red’s own Academy in Kirkby. He was recently praised by rising star Jerome Sinclair – LFC’s youngest ever player – who said after working with Fowler: “Robbie is a legend at this club so to get a few helpful tips from him and some advice is brilliant for me. This is a guy who has been there and done it and played at the pinnacle of the game. It’s fantastic for me to get the chance to work with him and it can only improve my game.”

Meanwhile, Robbie says Globall Coach will enhance the coach/student education experience at FEFA: “The students will be at the centre of everything we do and will analyse their performance alongside coaches,” Robbie said, adding: “This will be directed by UEFA A Licence coaches who will now have access to the kind of technology in use at major professional clubs.

“Ever since we created FEFA, the emphasis and vision has been on quality in everything we do. We have a fantastic team already and we will add top quality people to it. When I go into anything I want it to be a success and the team, I am part of, will make that happen.”

Fowler added: “As soon as we looked at Globall Coach, we thought it would complement our sport science team as well as the top quality education and coaching we will offer.

“I’m determined for the course to be a success and integrating technology like Globall Coach can only help make that happen.”
