Sturridge and Ibe in "hip-hop battle"

International Champions CupBRENDAN RODGERS and his Liverpool side are out in the States as part of their pre-season preparations and, of course, to ‘build the brand’. Away from all the marketing speak it’s an opportunity for the club’s legion of fans based across the pond to see their heroes in person, something fans back home in England maybe take a touch for granted.

As always the club will look to involve its stars in local culture in some way and in New York last week that entailed getting a couple of players to take up a challenge relating to hip-hop.

Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Ibe were the pair selected for this task and LFCTV caught it all on camera, as seen below.

If you haven’t got time to watch the whole quiz yet there’s also a shorter clip featuring Sturridge performing a Drake song:

Tonight the Reds take on their old rivals from down the East Lancs, Manchester United, in the final of the tournament they have been competing in whilst over in the US. The Guinness International Champions Cup (not to be confused with the UEFA Champions League, which of course Manchester United aren’t involved in this season) comes to an end with the two North West England giants taking each other on in Miami. Kick-off is 8pm local time, 1am Tuesday morning UK time.

The thought of it alone is so cool. Aside bonding with fans across the world, its very(if not most) important that the players bond as a family. One can not over emphasize its importance in the overall perfomance of the players as individuals and as a team.
