I agree Hansen would probably make a good manager but I don't think he's interested. He probably doesn't fancy the stress and who can blame him.

midland red- I definately agree with you comments concerning Jamie, but was just curious if you felt similarly about Alan Hansen?? I personally always thought he should give management a crack, its got to be better than running arouind Morrisons with a trolley in tow

I see Jamie Redknapp's joined his 'spice-boy' friend McManaman in having a go at Rafa and the club.

Someone needs to remind Jamie that:

a) he didn't exactly set the world alight when he was at Liverpool. Did he win us the Premiership?

b) he could have been a manager but like the Evertonian who works for Sky he prefers the comfort of the studio. So why should we respect his judgement when he's not done it or even tried management?

and

c) I like his dad. I think his Dad's done very well at Portsmouth etc. But at some point Jamie has to make a name for himself. Having a go at Rafa is not a good start.

One day people like Jamie - who now make their living almost solely as a TV pundit - will become real football people again.

He'll then appreciate that Rafa was doing well in the Premiership before the owners set-about him. He wasn't doing well in the Champions League. They then threaten to sack him if he doesn't turn it around. He does that and the league form - due to all the shenanigans behind the scenes and then infront of camera - suffers.

Jamie, I hope your column means you've earnt your fee but please don't dress it up as someone who cares for Liverpool - but as someone who's doing a rent-a-quote job.

Thanks Gav - I've fixed it now, but you can spot how much faith I've got in these owners...

"With DIC closing in on their takeover attempts, we may yet see another version of plans being drawn up before the building work finally collapses."

Either that's a Freudian slip or you really haven't got high hopes then for the new building then :)
